L'Opera è stata realizzata nell'ambito del progetto di arte partecipativa ideato da Mariangela Capossela, patrocinato dal Sistema di Protezione per Richiedenti Asilo e Rifugiati (SPRAR), in
partenariato con l'associazione Irpinia 2000 Onlus, in collaborazione con gli ospiti dei Centri di Accoglienza di Conza della Campania e con il contributo di Sabrina Pecci
Nell'Agosto del 2018 ho avuto l'onore di essere selezionata dalla sezione SponzArti dello Sponz Fest per realizzare un progetto fotografico in collaborazione con il centro SPRAR di Conza della
Campania, in Alta Irpinia.
La mia idea era quella di mettere in relazione il passato e il presente in modo visivo, avvicinare quindi le immagini degli storici abitanti della città con quelle dei giovani ospiti del centro
SPRAR con i quali adesso condividono il territorio.
Il modo più immediato di elaborazione del materiale che ho raccolto, in funzione di doverlo presentare poi durante il festival, è stato questo foto-video.
La prima fase del progetto è stata la ricerca delle vecchie fotografie appartenenti ad alcuni cittadini che hanno gentilmente deciso di collaborare prestando i loro ricordi e le loro voci al racconto, in un secondo momento ho realizzato dei ritratti fotografici ai ragazzi del centro SPRAR nei luoghi dove le vecchie foto furono scattate, luoghi ormai inabitati a causa del forte terremoto che ha raso al suolo il paese nel 1980.
Il video si propone di unire queste due realtà: le radici di chi "c'è sempre stato" si mischiano quindi con quelle di chi sta adesso tentando di piantare le proprie.

The Opera was created as part of the participatory art project conceived by Mariangela Capossela, sponsored by the Protection System for Asylum Seekers and Refugees (SPRAR), in partnership with the Irpinia 2000 Onlus association, in collaboration with the guests of the Centers Accoglienza di Conza of Campania and with the contribution of Sabrina Pecci.
In August 2018 I had the honor of being selected by the SponzArti section of "Sponz Fest" to realize a photographic project in collaboration with the SPRAR center of Conza della Campania, in Alta Irpinia (Italy).
My idea was to connect the past and the present in a visual way, bringing the images of the historical inhabitants of the city with those of the young guests of the SPRAR center with whom they now share the territory.
The most immediate way of processing the material that I collected, in terms of having to present it during the festival, was this photo-video.
The first phase of the project was the search for old photographs belonging to some citizens who kindly decided to collaborate by lending their memories and their voices to the story, in a second moment I made some photographic portraits to the guys of the SPRAR center in the same places where the old photos were taken, places now are uninhabited due to the strong earthquake that razed Conza in 1980.
The video aims to unite these two realities: the roots of those who "have always been there" mixed with those who are now trying to plant their own.
